Dr. Aidan Monahan, BDS
Dentist
Dr. Aidan Monahan was born in Cork, graduated from University College Cork with BDS in 1986. Together with his wife Liz, Aidan held a General Dental Practice in England from 1986 to 1997, before returning to Cork to open the Pope’s Quay Practice in ’99. Aidan continues to teach dentistry part-time in the undergraduate clinics in Cork University Dental Hospital.
Dr. Elizabeth Monahan, BDS
Dentist
Dr. Elizabeth Monahan studied Dentistry at UCC, graduating with BDS class of 1985.
Liz is an experienced dentist who has been practicing dentistry for over 30 years. She has held the practice here in Pope’s Quay alongside her husband, Aidan, for the past 18 years.

“Aidan was my dentist for about 10 years I think. Most of the time I was living in Cork, but for the last year I travelled from Dublin to be treated by him. I can’t recommend the practice highly enough. I referred friends here and they were equally delighted.
They do their best to slot you in for treatment when it suits-they’re open weekdays and also approximately every second Saturday 9-12. The surgery is bright and shiny and always gleaming. It’s good from the moment you go in the door. Sandra, the nurse, is lovely and extremely friendly. The waiting room has Sky News and a selection of up to date magazines and a copy of the Examiner. The surgery itself also has a TV if you need distracting-but you won’t.
Not only is Aidan an excellent dentist who doesn’t hurt you; he’s also a great conversationalist who is endlessly entertaining. The time flies by! He also doesn’t give out. He just tells you what needs to be done. I can’t imagine anyone retaining a fear of dentists after attending him. His wife is also in the practice and is lovely. I would go to either of them. And do so happily.”
